An Audit Ahead of a Possible IPO

Stablecoin payments company RedotPay said it has completed a financial audit while preparing for a possible U.S. initial public offering. The Hong Kong-based business also completed a separate review of anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing controls. It did not identify the firms that performed either review. Audited financial statements are a necessary part of a U.S. listing prospectus, making the financial audit a concrete step in the process rather than a listing announcement.

RedotPay lets customers hold stablecoins in an application, use a linked Visa card and send money across borders. The company said it had 8.5 million users as of July. Its approach connects blockchain-based dollar balances to payment tools already familiar to consumers, an area in which providers are competing on reliability, conversion costs and the number of places customers can actually spend their funds.

What a Listing Would Reveal

The company disputed an earlier report that its proposed IPO had been deferred because of regulatory and legal issues. A spokesperson said work with listing partners was continuing, although RedotPay did not provide a filing date or timetable for a share sale. That distinction matters: completing an audit and discussing an IPO are preparatory steps, while a public prospectus would give investors a fuller view of revenue, costs and material risks.

If RedotPay advances to a listing, the market will be able to compare its customer growth with audited financial performance. Until then, the significant development is narrower but meaningful. The company has completed two reviews relevant to operating and presenting a regulated payments business, and says its public-market ambitions remain active.
