About Postabay

What this site is

Postabay publishes two kinds of pages. Most are aggregated stories drawn from public RSS feeds published by other news organisations. The rest are original summaries written by an automated editorial process from those same public feeds and from market data.

Every aggregated story originates with the news organisation named on it. Where a story came from another outlet, the page carries a link to that outlet and the canonical reference for the story points to their version, not ours. If you want the full reporting, context and any later updates, read it at the original publisher.

How stories are chosen

Candidate stories arrive automatically from a fixed list of publisher feeds across business, markets, crypto, technology and policy. They are filtered for length and completeness, de-duplicated so the same story does not appear twice, and then either published automatically or selected by the editor before publication.

We do not accept payment to publish, promote, alter or remove a story. Selection is not influenced by advertisers.

Use of automation

This site is produced with substantial automation. Software selects candidate stories, cleans up the text, generates section subheadings, and chooses a stock photograph for each page. Original summaries are drafted by a language model working from sourced material.

We think readers are entitled to know that, so we say it here rather than implying a larger newsroom than exists. Automation does not mean unaccountable: a named person, below, is responsible for everything published, and our corrections policy applies to automated output exactly as it does to anything else.

Photography

Photographs are openly-licensed stock images from Wikimedia Commons, chosen to illustrate the subject in general terms. They are not photographs of the specific event described and should not be read as documentary evidence of it. We do not publish AI-generated images.

The site carries display advertising. Advertising is sold and served independently of editorial selection, and advertisers get no advance sight of, or influence over, coverage. Advertisements are labelled “AD”.
